We catch up with Mogi Wa Wa and find out what Matt and Andy have been up to since their Everyone Wants release.

We asked Mogi Wa Wa

1 – What’s your main music style and what are your influences?

Has to be House as are main sound but like a lot of artists don’t feel we write tracks to fall under one genre as we are tending to lean to a more tech sound of late and have also started some work on some progressive tracks……yeh let’s call it house. Influences of late are Shadow Child, Dusky, Leftwing Kody, Tough London and Camel Phat.

2 – Can you tell us about your recent release with Mixmania Records?

‘Everyone Wants’ started with using an unused vocal of Leanne’s we sampled from another track we did with Leanne a while back. We added guitar and piano we played in live and the track sort of took shape from that. The beat is quite minimal as is the bass but we wanted that and wanted it to feel a bit old school. Matt added the City Fiz remix and we were really pleased when Deano got onboard and produced his remix which is brilliant and totally different from the original.

3 – How do you think you differ from other artists?

I suppose we differ from others in that we both write and produce separately until an idea comes together rather than both sitting in the studio together starting from scratch for each track. Either me or Andy will have an idea and it will bounce back and forth until it gets to near finished and I will give it a final arrangement and mix. Also, Andy plays and writes most songs on piano and guitar so the melody and rhythm can and quite often does start this way. Quite a few of our intros or background sounds are guitar sampled and processed.

4 – How do you think as a music producer you stay relevant in an industry that’s known for changing very rapidly?

How to stay relevant……do your own thing but keep an eye on others.

5  – What do you think your best success to date is with your music productions?

Success! How do you rate success? It’s always nice to be included on compilation albums and get on a chart such as Traxsource/Beatport. DJ support is always great and when you unexpectedly hear your track in a mix, that is a great feeling and we think always will be.

6 – Who else would you love to remix or collaborate with?

We have a few remixes lined up that we can’t say too much about and these artists are definitely a ‘yes please’ having already known and heard their work. One we can mention is a couple of remixes for Disco legend Dee D Jackson. She has been really supportive and gave us access to an unreleased track. So, fingers crossed they all get the go ahead.

7 – Can you tell us about any up and coming projects?

As mentioned, we have a few remixes lined up and plenty more tracks on the go due soon. ‘Do What You Want’ is our next track on Mixmania Records. Matt is also remixing tracks as ‘City Fiz’ and Andy has written an indie rock EP under the name ‘InnSpire’ that has been produced by Matt and is out now.

8 – What are your future Industry predictions?

Predictions for the industry. Yeah if only we knew what lies ahead.

9 – Do you have any advice for new artists?

Advice is to just keep going on. Have small and achievable goals to make. If you are enjoying it why stop. When the DJ drops your track, it will always give you a smile and make your day.

10 – What’s next for you as an artist?

We are looking to do more mixes for Mixcloud and see what happens with our next round of remixes and ep’s/tracks and get back in our studios and start on the next batch of ideas.

Dj Kepi

2019 has been a huge break out year for Dj Kepi

We catch up with Dj Kepi and find out what he has been up to since his Jack The House release.

We asked Dj Kepi!

1 – What’s your main music style and what are your influences?

My main style I would say is House or Tech House with some Breaks in there as well. I have a lot of influences, but to name a few I would say artists such as Aphex Twin, The Orb, Hardkiss Brothers, Future Sound of London were fundamental in the early stages of my music journey. Then names like Stanton Warriors, DJ Icey, Layo & Bushwacka and so many more were part of my influences through the years.

2 – Can you tell us about your recent release with Mixmania Records?

My recent release is entitled “Jack The House”. It’s a rave inspired 90’s house track. I was in this mood of writing a throwback type track but give it some more updated samples and feel. I adapted a 80’s/90’s type arrangement by where the parts of the song flow in and out with less separation or distinguishable breaks. We were all very pleased Jack The House charted in Traxsource and had many club / radio plays from djs all over the world.

3 – How do you think you differ from other artists?

That is a tough question as I feel I mimic and take on other artists styles as influences but then the combination of all those influences at once is where I differ. I like to try to be outside the box in some ways and putting different styles of sounds together that normally you might not choose to combine.

4 – How do you think as a music producer you stay relevant in an industry that’s known for changing very rapidly?

I try to be always thinking in the back of my mind, what could be the next project or sample to use. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music outside the scope of House Music or dance music. I find inspiration from all kinds of places in my day. I feel fresh sounds are key in this industry but I also think production comes down to the mix of sounds/samples used or the orchestration so to speak. It’s like mixing other artists tracks, mixing one record with another is an art and production is similar to me in that aspect.

5  – What do you think your best success to date is with your music productions?

This year has really shown to be more of a breakout year for me. I signed with 5 labels this year including Mixmania Records. 7 tracks released this year so far (5 original / 2 Remixes). I have future releases in the wings. I have been fortunate to get some radio play in the UK as well as some charting on some genre charts on Traxsource and Beatport.

6 – Who else would you love to remix or collaborate with?

So many artists but let’s pick one for this. I would love to remix and/or collaborate with Bushwacka. Skullduggery and the whole Plank Record discography was huge for me in terms of sound and what dance music can be.

7 – Can you tell us about any up and coming projects?

Well, nothing in stone. I was given the green light on 2 tracks for a new label I am releasing with. Release dates unknown right now.

8 – What are your future Industry predictions?

More break out genres I would expect. There is always gonna be this ‘break it down and put it into something else movement’ with dance music. But honestly, who knows, the dance scene in America and other places has changed numerous times. Music is like history…. it repeats itself.

9 – Do you have any advice for new artists?

Practice. Perfect your art perhaps before you put anything out there. First impressions are key when it comes to DJing or showing someone a track. Polished tracks and mixes take time so be patient with your art. Plus, if you can get really good honest feedback from friends/family that helps too I feel.

10 – What’s next for you as an artist?

Taking my production to a higher level is really what’s next for me. Learning and mastering different techniques to make better music and all the while trying to stay true and unique to me.

Tech house is the music that I found a love for; I’m certainly influenced by new experimental music, authentic synth sounds and a Middle Eastern oriental vibe.

2 – Can you tell us about your recent release with Mixmania Records?

I released a track called ‘’Nine Nine’’ with Mixmania Records, which has changed my life over night by getting so much exposure all over the world. My live performance is full of positive vibes, great music with expression and non-stop
 dancing!

4 – How do you think as a music producer you stay relevant in an industry that’s known for changing very rapidly?

I grew up with the Techno generation at the end of the 90’s. Trends will come and go but good music never dies but Techno is still on top!

5  – What do you think your best success to date is with your music productions?

Getting my music productions signed by Mixmania Records and being able to share it on every music platform available.

6 – Who else would you love to remix or collaborate with?

This would have to be would be Prok & Fitch

7 – Can you tell us about any up and coming projects?

I’ve just finished touring in Greece the Ionian Islands, now the new season is about to start for me in the Middle East, but I have confirmed gigs with Formula 1, Ferrari World, and Red Bull 30×30 those are some of the biggest event events in the World. In the meantime I will still be performing in diverse places in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

8 – What are your future Industry predictions?

That’s a tricky, but looking at what is trending right know, the possibility of djs streaming their music during live sets, I can only assume where things might be going certainly looking at what Beatport is up to with their new dj streaming service.

9 – Do you have any advice for new artists?

Yes I have!

You have a goal? Go for it,

Improve your skills, work hard and don’t speak about DJing a lot, just do it.

10 – What’s next for you as an artist?

I will be looking at performing more at festivals and to have more DJ tours. Id also like to release more of my productions and make sure everyone has heard them.

Not only has he managed to build up a stunning performance repertoire over a short period, but he was also the youngest producer ever to get signed to Ireland’s largest record label Luxor Music. As this was not enough yet, his first release together with Damon Hess called ‘’Keep It Comin’’ smashed into the Beatport charts climbing up to number 15 and staying there comfortably for 2 weeks. And yet the success for this young and extremely talented performer and producer continues to evolve week after week. With upcoming releases on some of the most renowned record labels in the world you can expect nothing less that pure evolving greatness from a humble yet very passionate young individual.

Also on the performance scale he keeps on expanding his horizon playing in the major venues that Ireland has to offer. Some of the most notable ones being, The Wright Venue, SIN and many more. He has completed a circuit performing in Ibiza and has also performed in many venues in the UK. With all this happening for Josh it did not take long before local and national papers and magazines picked up on his success. Getting praise from the best article writers and blogger’s in his home country of Ireland and overseas. Josh’s sound is best explained to be an energizing merge between Deep-House/Vocal House/Classic House infused from time to time with Tech- House. He is extremely versatile in what he plays and creates and loves experimenting with sounds.

For Josh Coakley only one thing matters, and that’s to provide his crowd and his fans with nothing less than an amazing experience in music. It’s all about having fun in what he does and hoping to share it with as much people as possible. His unique skills behind the decks also never go unnoticed as he can make the craziest transitions without even thinking too much about it. The future is bright for this young artist. Many people in and outside of Ireland follow his evolvement into this over saturated scene in which he can stand out without having to make crazy jumps. In the end of all things, we can be sure to hear a lot more from this unique talent in the future to come.

OUR REBRAND HAS BEEN DONE BY STUDENTS FROM YEOVIL COLLEGE IN THE UK.

Ben Mitchell who did the final designs is the most talented, up and coming professional graphic designer we have had the pleasure to work with. Ben’s work ethic is second to none, he has worked very hard in meeting deadlines for us in an extremely fast pace environment. Ben has also dealt with us as clients in a very professional manner and comes across very passionate about the design industry.

We are already working with Ben on other projects and we know he is going to be much in demand for his design services in the near future.

We would like to thank Ben for his hard work and in elevating our brand to the next level.

We would also like to thank everybody who was involved with our rebrand project especially Adrian Ponter, Curriculum Area Manager of Creative Industries at Yeovil College for making this all possible.

After all the hard work we have put into cohesive brand design, we are pleased to say we are now ready to reveal our new brand identity.

Dark Grey: dignified, conservative, and carries authority.

Light Grey: power, balance, calm, soothing.

Dark Blue: trust, dignity, intelligence and authority.

Light Blue: peace, serenity, ethereal, spiritual, infinity.

Keeping consistent.

We also wanted to make sure that, our brand identity stays the way it heads out into the world, so we worked really hard on writing out full branding guidelines to ensure our logos are used in a way that upholds aesthetic standards and keeps our brand looking professional and consistent.

Our Next Release.

Rhys Franklyn who is studying graphic design at Yeovil College has also been working with us on some album artwork designs. Rhys has been the very first graphic designer to be implementing our new branding guidelines and we have all been really impressed with what Rhys has come up with, which is an outstanding design for our next release and in our opinion it’s by far the best album artwork we have had done by any graphic designer we have used.

Thank you Rhys for your hard work and meeting our very tight deadlines.

Our next release is out on the 28/7/17 and is available to pre-order 21/7/17 from Traxsource.
